About This Special Issue
The special Issue invites contributions of original and novel fundamental research. The special Issue aims to provide an international forum for the presentation of original fundamental research. Papers which describe novel theory and its application to practice are welcome, as are those which illustrate the transfer of techniques from other disciplines. Reports of carefully executed experimental work, which is soundly interpreted are also welcome. The overall focus is on original and rigorous research results that have generic significance.
The special Issue aim is to advance and disseminate knowledge in all the related areas of biomass, waste treatment, biomass energy, biomass transformations and systems analysis, and technologies associated with conversion or production.

Potential topics include, but are not limited to:

  1. Fuels: liquid and gaseous fuels production, modeling and economics
  2. Processes and products: biocatalysis and fermentations
  3. Biomass and feedstocks utilization: conversion of agro-industrial residues etc
  4. Environmental protection: biomass waste treatment
  5. Thermochemical conversion of biomass: combustion, pyrolysis, gasification, catalysis
